Michigan Lake and Pond Management
Since 1975 Aqua-Weed Control Inc. has been providing products and services for managing nuisance aquatic plant problems in Michigan’s lakes and ponds. As one of the largest aquatic plant control companies in Michigan, we take customer service very seriously!
Aqua-Weed Control Inc. is a second generation family owned business. As a “hands on” owner, I personally supervise, on a daily basis, many of the aquatic weed control projects we are contracted to perform. Few companies can make this claim!

Mr. Pinagel has been working in the nuisance aquatic plant management business since 1988. Mr. Pinagel is owner and President of Aqua-Weed Control Inc. since 1995. Aqua-Weed Control is the oldest and one of the largest full service chemical aquatic management firms in SE Michigan.
Mr. Pinagel was involved in some of the earliest product trials and evaluation of many compounds and lake weed treatment strategies in southeast Michigan working with EGLE and other state of Michigan officials. These include Fluridone evaluation treatments in the late 1980’s.
Dick holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Management from Ferris State University and is licensed by the Michigan Department of Agriculture to apply aquatic pesticides in Michigan waters.

Mr. Thompson has been employed at Aqua-Weed Control Inc. since 2005. Mr. Thompson attended Western Michigan University. Mr. Thompson is licensed by the Michigan Department of Agriculture to apply aquatic pesticides in Michigan waters.
Casey worked with EGLE regarding Triclopyr and Flumioxazin field evaluations and in the early 2000’s. And ProcellaCOR trials and evaluation beginning in 2018.
Casey is an active member of the Northeast Aquatic Plant Management Society, Midwest Aquatic Plant Mgt. Society, Aquatic Plant Mgt. Society, Michigan Aquatic Managers Association, and The Society of Lake Management Professionals. He is a current board member of the Midwest Aquatic Plant Mgt. Society.
Pond Division Manager / Aquatic Biologist dalton@aquaweed.com
Employed since 2010, Dalton received his M.S. in Biology from UM – Flint while working for Aqua-Weed Control primarily in the pond division. Dalton works with our lakes and pond divisions regarding water quality mapping, water quality testing and lab services, plant surveying, and other areas of aquatic biology. Dalton is licensed by the Michigan Department of Agriculture to apply aquatic pesticides in Michigan waters.
Dalton is an active member of the Midwest Aquatic Plant Mgt. Society.
Dalton is the 2017 recipient of the Society for Lake Professionals research grant and the 2018 winner of the Robert L. Johnson research grant. Both papers related to the study of interactions between lake and pond water quality and bio-augmentation strategies.

Blake has been employed at Aqua-Weed Control since 2010. Blake is a 2016 graduate of Michigan State University’s College of Natural Science with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience. Additionally, he holds an MBA from Oakland University, graduating in 2022. Blake has been a certified pesticide applicator since 2012.
Blake is an active member of the Midwest Aquatic Plant Mgt. Society and The Society for Lake Management Professionals.

Ryan has been employed at Aqua-Weed Control since 2011. Ryan attended Rochester College. Ryan is a certified pesticide applicator since 2012.
