AquaTest
AquaTest water quality testing includes:
- E. coli testing at swimming beaches
- Nutrient Concentrations
- Dissolved Oxygen
- Other tests are also available
- Cyanotoxin Testing
- PFAS Testing
The samples are collected by our trained staff then analyzed in our in-house laboratory. Some parameters are analyzed at an off site certified lab. A report is generated and forwarded to you. Click here for a sample report.
We also offer whole lake monitoring. This is a season long report that shows changes in the lake from Spring run-off thru Fall mixing.
Sediment Testing
Sediment testing for metals is available for the following metals:
- Aluminum
- Arsenic
- Copper
- Iron
- Lead
- Mercury
- Phosphorous
- And many more..
Harmful Algal Bloom (HAB) Testing
What is Microcystin?
Microcystin (Cyanotoxin) is a potential liver toxin and possible human carcinogen usually associated with blue green algae blooms. Cyanotoxins such as Microcystin can also kill livestock and pets that drink affected waters. Fish and bird mortalities have also been reported in water bodies with persistent blooms.
Blue green algae can multiply quickly in lakes with high nutrient levels, particularly when the water is warm, and the weather is calm. Rapid blue green algae growth can cause large “blooms” that turn the water green.
Microcystin Testing
Aqua-Weed Control can test for the presence of Microcystin even if there are no visible algae cells in the sample area. If Microcystin is detected we recommend further testing to determine the exact level present. We will collect samples in the affected areas and send to a certified lab.
Treatment Action
Field studies have shown that treatment of Microcystin affected areas, using algaecide products, have been effective in reducing total algal cell counts. Aqua-Weed Control can initiate a treatment program, as permitted, followed by periodic testing in the affected area(s).
